Original Toronto Star caption: A 30-foot hole on Glendonwynne Rd.; in the High Park area; was gouged out by a burst 36-inch watermain Saturday; which turned the street into a river; flooded the basements of houses and caused the collapse of a large maple tree. Crews removed 50 truckloads of sand and mire from the area Saturday night. Workmen had to shut off three large valves that took half an hour each because of the water pressure.
