A $25;000 fire that gutted a supplies storage shed and destroyed the contents yesterday in Whitby sent clouds of smoke billowing that could be seen for more than 10 miles. Five fire trucks and 15 firemen brought the blaze under control in half an hour. The shed contained plywood; plastic piping and insulation material owned by the Brock Building Supplies. Explosions were reported before the fire erupted.
