Original Toronto Star caption: An Inquisitive Beaver steals the spotlight from the royal family during a ceremony at Lower Fort Garry in which the Hudson's Bay Company presented two beaver to the Queen. The company's charter; issued in 1670; requires the payment of two elks and two black beavers to the monarch whenever he or she enters its lands. Yesterday's gift will live in a pond being built at the London zoo.
