Original Toronto Star caption: To be site for new head office. Above are shown the two old homesteads on Simcoe St. that have been purchased by the Abitibi Power and Paper Co.; as a site for a new head office building; which will front on University Ave. To the Left is 207 Simcoe St.; purchased in August; 1887; by Henry Beatty; father of President E. W. Beatty of the C.P.R. It was here that E. W. Beatty and Dr. Beatty spent their boyhood days. On the right is 209 Simcoe St.; built in 1890; by William Burns; alderman of Toronto for several years and head of the Burns Ice Co. Date of demolition of the buildings is not yet decided.
