Original Toronto Star caption: Fisher home on yonge st. to be razed. An outstanding historic landmark; the cottage and warehouse on the south-east corner of Yonge and Wellesly streets; is going to be wrecked to make way for a tavern. Built more than 30 years ago; away out in the suburbs at that time; the building was the home of Senator James Cox Aikens for many years. For the past 61 years it has been the home of Thomas Fisher; who carries on an express and warehouse business. It's a big problem to find another place to carry on; said Mr. Fisher. If we move out to the suburbs; it's going to mean the loss of a lot of customers who liek to come in and examine or handle the lots we have in the warehouse.
