Original Toronto Star caption: When Star photographer Boris Spremo was at this construction site at Bay Wellington in 1962 (top photo); The Toronto Dominion Centre (circled pillar) was only beginning to reach for the sky. It was clearly outdistanced by (l-r) the old Toronto Star; Royal Trust and Bank of Nova Scotia buildings. Now; only the Bank of Nova Scotia building remains of the former big three; and the circled pillar is barely there in the lower photo. But it does serve to prop up the finished product.
