Notes
Bound in Dutch flowery boards. Imperfect copy: the frontispiece is wanting. M.J.P. Weedon equates this book with Lilliputian fragments, or, Wisdom and mirth united, the tenth volume in the series The Lilliputian library, or, Gulliver's museum, compiled in 1779 by Richard Johnson, see Weedon's Richard Johnson and the successors to John Newbery, p. 53, no. 57. Roscoe, cited below, did not think that it was part of the Lilliputian library series. Marjorie Moon, however, points out that the book contains 12 of the 17 pieces in the tenth volume, see Moon's John Harris's books for youth, p. 60, no. 330. ome text engravings have been coloured by a child-owner.
