Original Toronto Star caption: When it comes to drawing out crowds military bands and marching men take a bit of beating. And sunshine made it a real gala day for birthday celebrations. Former Sgt. at Arms of the Toronto City Council; Jack Barnes; who retired yesterday; really goes out in a blaze of glory; as he leads unit of City Hall Employees he founded past new City Hall. With flags flying they really stepped out in style. Throughout Metro it will be a day of parades in the various boroughs; and shirt-sleeved crowds formed along routes early to get the best vantage points.
