Original Toronto Star caption: Cooling the ashes. Scarborough firemen hose down still-glowing embers after a two-alarm fire above a Woolworth store at Eglinton Ave. E. and Brimley Rd. today. Damage to offices and the store was put at $1.5 million. The cuase is under investigation. Fire hoses blocked Eglinton through the morning rush-hour and salt had to be spread on the ice-covered pavement before the street could be reopened.
