A moral fairy tale in which the fairy Candida punishes Prince Darling for his wickedness, transforming him into a creature with ''the head of a lion, the horns of a bull, the feet of a wolf, and the tail of a viper''. First published about 1809. Inscriptions on the upper wrapper and recto of the frontispiece are dated 1828.
