All 20 members of the club, whose members range in age from 36 to 71, recently completed the Boston Marathon's gruelling course. Kavanagh, a former British international athlete, is medical director of the TRC.

      Work is blessed: Dr. Andrew Simone, centre, leads volunteer members of Canadian Food For Children in prayer yesterday before they start packing the piled-up foodstuffs for shipment to a mission in Uganda. Earlier this week, the organization sent food and medicines to Canadian nurse Theresa Hicks, who runs a clinic in a squatters' camp in Liberia.

Still you can't seem to resist snacking on a hot dog smothered with onions, relish and mustard at a baseball game or a rock conert. How do you break your automatic habit pattern? That question was put to Dr. Richard B. Stuart, psychological director of the 600,000 members of Weight Watchers International. He was in Toronto recently to promote his new Book of the Month Club bestseller, Act Thin, Stay Thin (George J. McLeod, $11.50).
