Original Toronto Star caption: Artist A. Y. Jackson tells 'Group of 7' stories. Landscape painter A. Y. Jackson, member of Canada's famed Group of Seven art group, tells a class of pupils from Brampton's Agnes Taylor Public School about some of his experiences while travelling and painting all across Canada. The pupils were among almost 50,000 that visit the McMichael Galleries in Kleinburg each year where a collection of about 700 paintings by Group of Seven and their contemporaries are on view. Jackson was born in Montreal in 1882.
