Original Toronto Star caption: Being readied for shipment to Quebec iron country is this 15-ton roll of conveyor belting at Goodyear Tire's Bowmanville plant. Six of these will form two 2,200-foot belts, 4 1/2 feet wide, to carry iron ore from the primary crushing station to storage silos at Quebec Cartier Mining Co. development. From silos, ore is further crushed before treatment in world's biggest concentrator at site.

    Scotty Dunbar, a guard at Canadian Tire's Brampton warehouse, says the company's profit-sharing plan has given him incomparable security for his old age. Dunbar, 49, has used his equity in Canadian Tire shares to pay off his mortgage and start a business that later failed. He still has more than $120,000 left. He hopes to retire in few years.
