Anna Ma was born in China in 1889. She was baptised when she was one month old. She came to Canada as a "picture bride" to marry Reverend T. K. Wou Ma. They set up the first Chinese Presbyterian Church at 187 Church Street in Toronto and devoted their lives to the church.
