A small, but loyal group of 30 westerners greeted the royal visitors when they arrived at lonely Mount Robson station, high in the Rockies. The sovere(...)

  • A small; but loyal group of 30 westerners greeted the royal visitors when they arrived at lonely Mount Robson station; high in the Rockies. The sovereigns; however; were unable to view the lofty peak as its top was enshrouded in clouds during their brief 10-minute stay. Here again the King and Queen mingled with their subjects and walked and talked with them. From this stop the sleek; blue royal train pulled away for the run down the eastern side of the Rockies; on into Jasper National Park where the sovereigns spent a restful day in the quiet; rugged surroundings. For this part of the long journey the King wore comfortable tweed togs and the Queen a simple travelling costume. Their majesties were seen in this pose by many admirers as the train slowed up in passing numerous stations on the journey.
