Original Toronto Star caption: Jim Day of Hornby, Ont., guides The Nomad over a jump en route to winning the first North American three-day event championship at Jokers Hill yesterday. The veteran horseman wasn't really expected to win the title as he's relative novice in the event, but determination and horsemanship more than countered the odds. Day, an expert show jumper, took early lead in dressage and never looked back.
