Original Toronto Star caption: North Americans shouldn't deceive themselves into believing Soviet boss Mikhail Gorbachev is a reformer who'll dismantle the rigid Communist system, says an American reporter held 13 days in Moscow as a spy. Nicholas Daniloff told a Toronto audience that, despite the vast changes under way in the Soviet Union today, Gorbachev still believes in central planning, and reforms he wants to bring to the Soviet economy will be made under the conditions that now exist.
