Original Toronto Star caption: Ab Campbell tours new zoo site. Recuperating from surgery, Metro Chairman Ab Campbell wandered about the 710-acre site of Metro's zoo in Scarborough, and pronounced it: Coming along fine. Pointing out the buildings now under construction is Metro Parks Commission T. W. Thompson. After his tour in which Campbell shunned a wheel chair, he described his post-operative condition as not too bad. I think I'm getting a little better every day.

      Hairy suitor: Aussie, the hairy-nosed wombat, is on loan to Metro Toronto Zoo from Chicago's Brookfield Zoo - in hopes he'll find a mate. Come next June, he may be leading Sunday tours with the zoo's director-to-be, Peter Crowcroft, also from Australia.
