Original Toronto Star caption: These warm spring days are just the thing for lazin' in the sun; and residents of Metro Zoo were among the first to find out. A picture of total relaxation; one of the hippopotamuses bellies into the mud with a benign smile. Leo the lion stretched and growled; or was it a yawn? The elephants found the spring breezes; however; set their ears going like sails and wrinkled the brow of this big fellow. In the giraffe pen; it was a look of curiosity.
