  • The $140 million extension of the Yonge St. subway; which will be officially opened tomorrow and begin accepting passengers at 6 a.m. Saturday; ends at the Finch station. A unique feature is the kiss 'n ride carousel which permits cars picking up or dropping off passengers to orbit the outside circle until a space is available. Construction is booming around the subway extension and land value have soared as much as 400 per cent. Building permits in North York totalled $57 million in January and February; compared with $21 million last year.
