Original Toronto Star caption: Of the 100;000 emergency calls that will be made for ambulances in Metro this year; from 7 to 10 each day will be for overdoses of pills; says John Pollard; commissioner of the Department of Emergency Measures for Metro. It alarms me; he said; because that figure almost constant. It's a social problem I don't think we've examined. This year ambulance service installed direct lines to high school swimming pools.
