Original Toronto Star caption: Lodge house at gate. The Mackenzie mansion on Avenue Road Hill is one of the costliest in Canada. Overlooking the city and Lake Ontario, the view is unsurpassed. From "Benvenuto, the Royal Party will see Toronto at its best."

"Benvenuto" was built by Simeon H. Janes in 1888, purchased by Sir William Mackenzie in 1897, and demolished in October 1931.
