Believed to have been malt house & granary of Toronto's first brewery; used as blacksmith's shop from 1877 and later as an automobile repair shop.

Inscribed on recto: "TOR First Brewery". Sign on the building façade states, "A. Mathieson Expert Automobile Engineer Studebaker Specialist"
