Original Toronto Star caption: Stone faces of river gods guard the arches above the main entrance of St. Lawrence Hall; built in 1850s. St. Lawrence is the patron saint of Canada; and a close look at some stone garlands will show fruits and vegetables grown in Ontario. Between the arches at eye level are carvings of battle-axes and crowns.
