Original Toronto Star caption: Laying A Sidewalk--4 Storeys High; First of two 85-foot; 90-ton spans for a pedestrian walkway between the fourth floors of Simpsons-Sears mail order building and the new company headquarters across Mutual St. is hoisted into place yesterday. The 16-foot high curving spans; lifted by mobile cranes; are believed to be the largest pre-fabricated in Ontario.
