Original Toronto Star caption: The Owner of Mail and Empire buys key property. ABOVE is shown, on TOP, the Key building, at 288 Bay Street, which has been purchased by I.W. Killam, new owner of the Mail and Empire news paper, from McWilliams and Lockhart, realtors, together with the Chestelease, that covers the ground on which the building stands and also an area in rear. BELOW is a diagram that shows, shaded, the area included in the Chester lease, and the lanes surrounding the parcel in rear of the building and also the Mail and Empire lane, over which other property holders also have rights of way in the case of the Chester lease after it expires.
