Original Toronto Star caption: First steel for commerce court. Commerce Court; which will house Toronto's tallest building; a 57-storey; 784-foot tower; received its first steel Tuesday; a box-shaped grillage placed on reinforced concrete bases in the 70-foot deep excavation. The three-building Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce complex will be completed in 1972.
