Beat police officers are a special breed. They know the children in their areas and provide good public relations for the tourists who love to stop and chat. Regular area foot patrols are set up in the downtown core covered by 14; 55 and 52 Divisions; but mobile police officers in other divisions often leave their cars in the course of a day's work.
