Original Toronto Star caption: Things are looking up in the Canadian auto industry; with plans such as this one at Ford's Oakville complex running at close to full production. Car sales have been fairly strong in Canada lately - big-four dealers reported April sales down only 5.4 per cent from year-earlier levels. But the serious sales slump in the U.S. continues. That means Canadian production will suffer; because the U.S. is our main market.
