Original Toronto Star caption: But two new Leafs didn't help. An unannounced change of heart put two new Canadian flags up the pole at Maple Leaf Gardens last night for the Leafs-Canadians game. Garden officials; cool to the flag; had said earlier they might not fly it until the end of season. The flags flanked the Red Ensign; Stars and Stripes and Union Jack. But if they were run up at the last minute to spark the flagging Leafs; they didn't work. They lost in overtime 4-3.
