Notes
Original Toronto Star caption: Who needs snow? lain Sloan of North York ignores the season and logs hundreds of miles on his roller skis as he trains for his rookie year with the Southern Ontario Division cross-country ski team. Sloan does his fair-weather training at Earl Bales Park since skis, equipped with ratchet-styled wheels, can be used on grass or pavement. The all-weather skis cost about $200. Regular cross-country boots are used with them.
