Original Toronto Star caption: All the world's a stage and Hugh Hurd may be leaving on the next one. An understudy's dream became a nightmare for Hurd, 54, when he was called upon to replace headliner James Earl Jones in Master Harold and the Boys at the Royal Alexandra Theatre on the weekend. Jones, who had received rave reviews from Toronto critics, suffered a detached retina Friday morning and was unable to perform. He was to fly to New York city for treatment. [Incomplete]
