Original Toronto Star caption: They both went nuts; Kathy Hryhorenko; 19; said when she and fiance; Kirk Schizas; 22; of Burlington; learned they'd won $100;000 in Thursday's Wintario draw. Windfall came as a welcome wedding gift. They're getting married next Saturday and plan to invest the money - after buying some furniture.

      Doreen MacDonald picked up a toaster from a pile of battered appliances in the Qeen St. E. Soup-to-nuts junk store run by Jack Himself Cohen. One dollar. Himself said. Does it work? Doreen asked. I don't know. Why don't you plug it in and find out? All I do is sell as is. You won't plug it in? No. Doreen paid the $1 and once again proved Himself's credo: I don't polish anything. I learned my lesson when I polished the $25 special finish off a candelabra early in business. Since then I sell everything just as it is. [Incomplete]
