Frank Knight; Scarborough's official town crier; gets the Variety Club of Ontario's sixth annual telethon off to a ringing start last night at the Royal York Hotel. Listening for the sound of pledged dollars to aid needy and handicapped children are entertainer Glenn Smith; left; master of ceremonies Monty Hall and singer Michael Danso. Global TV's 21-hour event ends tonight at 6.30.

Let's go out and get it, Christener said as he kicked off campaign early yesterday for the media. Official appeal kick-off starts tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Nathan Phillips Square and you're invited.
