Original Toronto Star caption: High School Students Study At Synagogue; Taking advantage of secondary school teachers' strike Adath Israel Synagogue in the Bathurst St. Wilson Ave. area is offering courses in Jewish studies to students who may have time on their hands. Courses are held every weekday from 10 a.m. to noon. A volunteer and synagogue member. Malka Mirsky teaches religion to about 20 students. Topics include Jewish literature; the Bible; Zionism; ethics; history and other subjects of Jewish interest. The courses are free.
